I really wanted to love this skirt. Like SO much. I'd been eyeing it for a while, but I'm kind of a minimalist. When they went on sale, it seemed like an opportunity to finally grab them. Oh well.
Overall, the idea is really nice. The execution? Less so. First, they call it an all-seasons fabric. When I tell you that this fabric is completely translucent, I'm not joking. It's fine with tights, but I'd be afraid to wear without a slip in the summer.
They also mention that it's supposed to have an easy, mildly A-line shape. Ladies - this skirt is totally straight. It would have been great to know this in advance. Because they don't have measurements listed in the size chart, it was impossible to know this. Generically saying "4-6" or "8-10" is not really helpful when you have a 25" waist and a 38" hip. Like I can be a 2 or an 8 depending on the brand. Suffice it to say, the fit of this was just barely too snug around my hips, but the waistband is HUGE and loose. And because the fabric is so thin, it isn't possible to really tailor it.
I usually steer clear of straight skirts without stretch, but this wasn't really marketed as a straight skirt so...just be aware. If you're of a similar hourglass shape, this isn't really for you unless you want to go for a much bigger size to fit your hips and have the top of the skirt be all bunchy and balloon out.
Also the one I got had a ton of loose threads. It just didn't seem like the same Mimu quality fabrication I have in my Hug and Body dresses or my skirt leggings.
My two cents, still love everything else Mimu makes that I've purchased so far.
